This page contains some information on AE Suppressors as well as some FAQ we receive. We receive a lot of correspondence on what we can do, this should help eliminate some of the extra calls and emails that take up valuable time.

Q: Can you contour my rifle barrel with an integral collar for an AE suppressor?
A:  For all barrels, to cut an integral taper, there has to be a diameter of .920 or bigger at the taper. This taper location varies depeding on the suppresor and is measured back from the muzzle.
  • 2.05" for AEM2, AEM3, AEM4
  • 2.5" for AEM5, AEM5-30
  • 4.52" for M24.
If your barrel isn't .920" or bigger you cannot have the taper cut into the barrel and will have to use a collar. The minimum diameter to run a collar is .750". Keep in mind that we can also shorten your barrel if you want to get back to where it is thicker.

Q: Can you cut the threads to run the suppressors without the brake?
A: Yes, we can cut the M22x1 metric threads.

Q: Do you recommend 1/2x28 or 5/8x24 threads?
A: We always recommend using the 5/8x24 threads, even on .223. This ensure that you have less chances for bore deformation when cutting the thread and just leaves more meat on the muzzle.

Q: Why do you have to cut my barrel shorter?
A: Usually we don't. Sometimes existing muzzle threads are incompatible and will need to be cut off and recut. This will make your barrel approximately .600-.700" shorter. There could be a variety of reasons for shortening, with the most common being the existing threads are not concentric enough. If the threads/shoulder are incompatible and you do not want the barrel cut back then we will refuse the work.

Q: Do you do work on AR15 barrels?
A: Sometimes. It depends on what you want done. We can chop and thread your barrel or contour and install collars and brakes. We do not do gas port work or offer gas block or muzzle device pinning, etc. We recommend D. Wilson Mfg for AR15 work.  https://www.dwilsonmfg.com/

Q: Can I send my rifle complete.
A: You can, we don't recommend it.  We prefer you send just the barrel or barreled action. Please remove all accessories, scopes, triggers, bolts, etc. Anything that isn't required just adds unnecessary weight and size for shipping. We also dont want to have to keep track of all your extra stuff that we have to remove to do the work. And we will charge extra for the extra disassembly work.

Q: Do you stock collars and breaks?
A: Yes, we keep a limited amount on hand. Availability is subject to production and we don't manufacture them so we recommend you provide your own.

Q: Do you check alignment and fitment?
A: Yes, we have most models of AE suppressors on hand to verify fitment and alignment before sending your rifle/barrel back. It is still recommended to double check alignment with your individual suppressor.

Q: Do you offer refinishing?
A: Yes, we offer cerakote, parkerizing, and black oxide.

Q: Why don't you answer the phone?
A: We don't have time. We receive a lot of phone calls and spam calls everyday. If you need to contact us, please email and we will get back to you when we can. This also provides a written record of what you want done. Phone calls and conversations can sometimes be mixed up with others and be hard to remember.

Q: Why can't I buy the service I want online?
A: Prices are subject to change based on the work you want done and there are too many variables to set a firm price or have enough options for online checkout. Return shipping needs to be added as well since most people don't send return shipping labels.  You will be emailed an invoice and can pay securely online with a card when the work is done and return shipping is calculated.
